Camilo Durán Will Be Undergoing Medical as Celtic Close In on Striker

Camilo Durán will be undergoing a medical as Celtic edge ever closer to completing one of the club’s biggest signings of the summer.

Speaking ahead of Celtic’s pre-season friendly against Shelbourne, Martin O’Neill confirmed that the Colombian striker is set to begin the final stage of his move from Qarabag.

“He’s doing a medical, I think, just as we speak. If he’s not doing it tonight, he’ll be doing it tomorrow morning.”

The deal is expected to be worth between £5.5 million and £6 million, highlighting Celtic’s determination to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

Club physio Tim Williamson has travelled to assist with the process, and once the medical is successfully completed, Durán is expected to fly out and join the Celtic squad at their warm-weather training camp in Portugal within 24 hours.

After weeks of speculation surrounding the club’s transfer activity, this represents a significant step forward. While the transfer will not be official until all paperwork is signed and the club makes its announcement, the signs are increasingly positive that Durán will soon be wearing the famous green and white hoops.

His arrival would provide a timely boost as Celtic continue their preparations for the Premiership season and crucial European qualifiers, with supporters hoping this is the first of several important additions before the competitive action begins.
